Prabowo Encourages AHY To Play A Strategic Role In Helping Government

Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto encouraged himself to be able to play a role in the future government.

This was conveyed by AHY when answering reporters' questions about whether or not there was a discussion on the allocation of ministerial seats in his meeting with Prabowo Subianto, Tuesday (20/2) night.

"He congratulated him (on his mandate as Jokowi's minister) and of course encouraged me from the start that I and the Democrats play a role in the government and of course in the next five years," AHY said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.

AHY's meeting with Prabowo was held somewhere, Tuesday (20/2). The meeting was uploaded by AHY on the Instagram account @agusyudhoyono.

AHY's intention to meet Prabowo was to report the mandate given by President Joko Widodo to him as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency.

AHY felt the need to report the mandate given by Jokowi to Prabowo as a senior and presidential candidate who was supported by his party.

Even though he received an encouragement to play a role in the government in the next five years, AHY admitted that he had not specifically discussed what tasks to be carried out in the next five years, if Prabowo won the 2024 presidential election.

"Not specifically or not specifically discussing what to do in the next five years in a certain arrangement or formation. Later maybe at the next opportunity we will talk like that," he explained.
