Jokowi Makes Sure He Will Meet With The Chairman Of Other Political Parties After Surya Paloh: Everything Is Regulated In The Process

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said meetings with a number of party general chairmen were being regulated. He wants to bridge them after the 2024 presidential election.

"I think this is in the process of being arranged because I really want to be a bridge for everything," Jokowi told reporters at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 21.

Jokowi, who recently met with the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, said that the meeting did need to be held. However, he will not force it.

"Yes, all those who really have to meet, could find them. If you don't need to meet, why do you have to meet them," he said.

As previously reported, President Jokowi had indeed revealed that he wanted to be a bridge between parties when asked about his meeting with Surya Paloh at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday night, February 18. However, this statement has attracted the attention of many parties, including PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.

Instead of being a bridge, there should be many things that must be done because the stages of the 2024 presidential election are still not finished. The recapitulation process is still ongoing and the public cannot close their eyes.

"Actually, the election is not over yet. There is still a tiered recapitulation," Hasto told reporters at the High End Building, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 19. Hasto reminded all parties to continue to monitor the vote recapitulation process carried out by the General Elections Commission (KPU). Moreover, it is suspected that fraud occurred which was highlighted by various parties, including community groups.
