PT Semen Padang Denies There Was A Big Explosion Just Over-pressure On The Tubes

PT Semen Padang denied that there was a big explosion that occurred in the raw mill or equipment to anneal and dry cement raw materials on Tuesday afternoon. "What happened was that there was a spark for a moment when filling nitrogen gas into one of the accumulators tubes. It was suspected that there was an over-pressure on the tube, causing sparks," said Head of the Public Relations and Secretariat Unit of PT Semen Padang Nur Anita Rahmawati in Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Antara, Tuesday, February 20. According to him, due to the spark, there was one worker who had minor bruises and four people suffered burns who had received medical treatment. "No one died as a result of the incident," he said. Anita said that currently her party is focused on investigating the cause of the incident and also handling the victim. "PT Semen Padang upholds integrity and social responsibility. We will use the incident as a valuable lesson to improve performance in the future," he said. Currently, the operation of the Indarung V factory, PT Semen Padang, is still running normally. Previously, it was informed that there was an explosion at the Indarung V factory owned by PT Semen Padang.
