BIAK - The Biak Numfor Regency Government, Papua, in 2024, will start imposing a 10 percent regional tax for the procurement of food and drink in every regional apparatus organization (OPD). "All OPDs in the Biak Numfor Regency Government if they procure food and drink are required to be subject to regional taxes," said Head of the Biak Numfor Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) George Krey in Biak, Papua, Antara, Tuesday, February 20. He asked the OPD leadership within the Biak Numfor Regency Government to start collecting taxes on the regional food and drink service services. According to him, the legal basis for the implementation of the OPD food and drink tax is Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2023 concerning Regional Taxes and Regional Retribution (PDRD). "Local tax provisions regarding the collection of food and drink tax will be regulated by the regent's regulation as the implementation of Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2023," he said. Krey added that in addition to the food and drink tax, his party will also now regulate the tax collection of rental houses or boarding houses. His party will cooperate with the Civil Service Police Unit to curb local tax payments to registered boarding house owners. Krey is optimistic that the regional tax and levy levy in 2024 will be optimized to achieve the target of receiving local revenue (PAD). "This year the Biak Numfor PAD revenue target has been set in the 2024 Regional Budget document amounting to Rp44 billion," he said.

The Biak Numfor Regency Government since January 1, 2024 has imposed Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2023 concerning Regional Taxes and Regional Retribution.
