Central Java Police have uncovered allegations of misuse of subsidized fuel in the Jongor Port area, Tegal City, with evidence of tens of tons of diesel.

Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Kombes Dwi, said the perpetrators of the abuse sold subsidized diesel to ships at the port.

"The method is to buy with a modified car and then sell it at a non-subsidized price," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 19.

According to him, the police began investigating the alleged irregularities since January 2024 which was later upgraded to an investigation since February.

Kombes Dwi explained that the practice of abusing the sale of subsidized fuel itself is thought to have been going on since six months ago.

In the investigation, he continued, the police had examined eight witnesses related to the alleged crime.

"There are eight witnesses, but the suspect has not been determined," he said.

In addition, according to him, 43 tons of subsidized diesel were also secured which had not been sold by the perpetrators.
