JAKARTA - The ruler of the Mangkunegaran Temple Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya (KGPAA) Mangkunegara X became the inspector of the 279th Anniversary Ceremony of Surakarta City which was held at Balekambang Park Solo, Central Java, Saturday. Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka also participated in the event.
"Of course I am happy to be able to contribute to this event, especially in Balekambang which is very close to our history," said KGPAA Mangkunegara X, who is also familiarly called Gusti Bhre.
He said Balekambang Park, which was built by Mangkunegara VII, is currently much more well-maintained, neat, and beautiful. He explained that Solo is rich in history, tradition, and custom.
In this regard, he asked all parties to hold these values. "We must develop by holding these values. Like history is the root, we grow the tree with that root," he said.
He also reminded the importance of collaboration. According to him, during the last two years there have been many collaborations between Mangkunegaran Temple and the Surakarta City Government.
"Hopefully this collaboration will continue to last in the future and the community can enjoy the benefits," he said.
On the same occasion, Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka hoped that the regional government's work program launched from the beginning as the head of the local area could be completed on time.
"The infrastructure that is built can be utilized by residents, it can produce extraordinary multiplier effects, especially for economic growth," he said.
He hopes that Balekambang Park can be used by artists, culturalists, and the government to collaborate to preserve regional wealth.
