Voice Counting In Badui Continued By Using A Flashlight

SERANG - The Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) at TPS 02 Cipondok Village, Lebak Regency, Banten continued the vote count using flashlight lighting.

The Head of the Supervisory of polling stations (PTPS) TPS 02, Ati Kurniati, said that currently the calculation process is still ongoing by relying on flashlight lighting.

"Currently, the process of calculating the Indonesian House of Representatives' ballots will continue with the provincial DPR and DPRD," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 14.

According to him, this is a challenge for KPPS members to stay focused on calculating even though they only use flashlights and candles as lighting.

"We follow the customary rules of the Bedouin residents regarding the absence of lighting in the Budai area. Of course this is a challenge in itself," he said.

However, his party said it really appreciated the Bedouin people who were very enthusiastic in channeling their voting rights at the Central Statistics Agency (DITPS).

"Baduy residents who use the voting rights of DITPS 02 have 139 people out of a total DPT of 159 people. So almost 90 percent have exercised their voting rights," he said.

He said that his party did not find any form of election violations and fraud in the local area.

Previously, based on data from the Lebak KPU, Banten, the number of permanent voters (DPT) for the Bedouin population was 6,078 people who participated in the 2024 General Election vote at 27 polling stations.
