MUI Urges The Public To Keep The Election Atmosphere Conducive

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for Da'wah and Ukhuwah Muhammad Cholil Nafis appealed to the public to always maintain the atmosphere of general elections (elections) to remain conducive.

"Hopefully everyone can restrain themselves, maintain conduciveness (situation remains conducive.red), honest, and fair in the implementation of the election," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 14.

To ensure that the atmosphere remains conducive, Cholil appealed to the public to oversee the vote counting process, and resolve problems that may arise through legal channels.

"Hopefully the election can run fairly and peacefully," he said, who exercised his voting rights in Jakarta, at around 10.30 WIB.

In this election, Cholil hopes that all people will exercise their right to vote without coercion, and use their conscience to elect people who will become representatives of the people for the next five years.

In addition, he also hopes that the contestants who are selected will not be happy, as well as the contestants who have not been selected will not be discouraged.

"Yes, those who will be well elected, the winners, not jumawa, and the losers also don't need to be disappointed," said Cholil.

"If possible, it is like the previous election, but still work together to be able to build the nation for the next five years," he said.
