Body Of Missing Man Looking For Crab Found In West Muna, Southeast Sulawesi

The Kendari Basarnas Joint SAR Team managed to find the body of a man who was missing while looking for crabs on Balu Island, Santiri Village, North Tiworo District, West Muna Regency (Mubar), Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Muhammad Arafah said that the identity of the corpse was named Sarif (34), a resident of Santiri Village, North Tiworo District, which was first reported missing by his family on Tuesday (13/2) at around 17.10 WITA. "It was reported that there had been a dangerous condition of humans against one person who was missing while searching for crabs on Balu Island," said Arafah as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 14. He said based on the report, his party then dispatched the Muna SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team to an informed location at 17.35 WITA. "The location traveled with the Muna SAR Alert Unit about 42 kilometers," he said. Tiworo Utara District was declared complete and closed. "Serta, all elements involved in the search were returned to their respective units," said Arafah. He also revealed that in the search operation the victim, his party used several tools, such as a rescue bag, rubber boats, evacuation palsars, medical palsars, communication equipment, and a number of other safety support equipment.

Arafah revealed that the disappearance of the victim began when she said goodbye to her family to go looking for crabs and sea cucumbers on the coast of Balu Island. However, until the afternoon the victim did not come home. "At that time, the family immediately searched, but did not find it," explained Arafah.
