The Panel of Judges at the Mataram District Court, West Nusa Tenggara, acquitted the Candidate for the Election of Cakranegara, Mataram City, Ni Komang Puspita, who was charged with violating the Election Law for distributing rice and photo stickers of his candidacy.

"The trial by stating that the defendant Ni Komang Puspita was not proven guilty of committing a crime as in the single indictment of the public prosecutor," said Chief Justice Lalu Moh. Sandi Iramaya when reading the verdict at Ni Komang Puspita's verdict at the Mataram District Court, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 13.

With this decision, the judge asked the prosecutor to restore the rights of the defendant in his abilities, position, and dignity as a citizen.

"Regarding the evidence in the form of a Realme mobile phone and a copy of the screenshot, it was returned to the witness," he said.

Then the evidence in the form of a cell phone unit Oppo was returned to the defendant Ni Komang Puspita along with KPU letter Number 170 of 2023 which was attached to the case paper.

At the end of the verdict, the judge charged the state with court fees.

After receiving the acquittal, Ni Komang Puspita stated that she was ready to fight at the decisive stage of the 2024 General Election which will take place on Wednesday (14/2).

"I am ready to fight for tomorrow morning," said Komang.

Previously, the prosecutor in charge of asking the panel of judges to impose a prison sentence on Ni Komang Puspita with a prison sentence of 5 months.

The prosecutor also asked the judge to impose a fine of Rp. 5 million, subsidiary to 4 months in prison.

The prosecutor conveyed these demands by stating that Ni Komang Puspita's actions had been proven to have violated Article 523 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 280 paragraph (1) of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
