Ahead Of Voting Day, Jokowi Raises Bawaslu Allowances Of Up To IDR 29 Million

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2024 concerning Employee Performance Allowance Allowances within the Secretariat General (Setjen) of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). In a presidential decree released from the jdih.setneg.go.id page reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 13, the nominal amount of the performance allowance paid per month is divided into 17 levels of office class, ranging from Rp1,968,000 for the class of positions 1 to Rp29,085,000 for the class of positions 17." Performance allowance for employees within the Secretariat General of the General Election Supervisory Agency, as referred to in Article 3, is given as from the enactment of this presidential regulation," said the excerpt of Article 4 of Presidential Regulation Number 18 of 2024. The regulation was set in Jakarta and signed by President Jokowi on Monday 12 February. The Presidential Decree can be downloaded at the following link. This provision also revokes Presidential Decree No. 122 of 2O17 concerning Employee Performance Allowance within the Secretariat General of the General Election Supervisory Agency which previously took effect as of December 15, 2017.

In the old Presidential Decree, the value of the performance allowance is lower than the latest Presidential Decree, which amounts to a nominal amount ranging from Rp1,766,000 for the class of positions 1 to Rp24,930,000. When this presidential regulation comes into effect, Presidential Regulation Number 122 of 2017 concerning Employee Performance Allowances within the Secretariat General of the General Election Supervisory Body (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia of 2017 Number 266), is revoked and declared invalid, "said Article 13 in the latest Presidential Decree.
