Joko Tjandra Asked To Be Free: I Am A Victim, Please Consider It

JAKARTA - The defendant in a case of alleged gratification of the Supreme Court (MA) fatwa, Joko Tjandra, asked the public prosecutor (JPU) to give an acquittal. The reason was that while this case was rolling, Tjoko Tjandra had been cooperative by opening up everything that was known.

Joko Tjandra's statement was conveyed when his legal advisor asked his hopes for the trial process. Joko Tjandra immediately asked the public prosecutor to demand his release.

"I beg to ask for freedom, because of course when the investigating team by Mr. Rudi Margono, I opened it all, I will tell you everything. I will explain what you want to know," said Joko Tjandra in a trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Thursday, February 25.

In fact, Joko Tjandra said he was only a victim of this circle of cases. Moreover, in the case of gratification of fatwa arrangements, Tjoko Tjandra admitted that he had resigned and did not want to be involved.

"From the first I said, I am a victim of that (case), please consider it," he said.

Joko Tjandra also said that he had asked his children to keep his condition secret from his grandchildren. Because, he did not want to see or hear sadness from them.

"Please keep it a secret to my grandchildren, they don't know, that's my message to my children," he said.

In this case, Joko Tjandra was charged with bribing Attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari of 500 thousand United States (US) dollars. The bribe was intended so that Joko Tjandra was not executed in the Bank Bali cassie case and could return to Indonesia.
