Death Of 3-Year-Old Baby At Orphanage In Semarang Allegedly Unnatural, Police Dismantle Tomb For Autopsy

SEMARANG - Police are investigating the unnatural death of a 3-month-old baby who was treated at an orphanage in the Genuk area, Semarang City, Central Java.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Semarang Polrestabes Kompol Andika Dharma Sena said officers re-opened the unusual baby's grave for autopsy purposes.

"We carried out an exhumation with the consent of the victim's parents," he said in Semarang, Monday, February 12, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the investigation began with the report of the baby's mother.

It was also revealed by Kompol Andika that the unlucky baby was placed in an orphanage because his parents divorced.

The victim's body, he continued, was buried on Sunday 11 Fberuari.

Kompol Andika said that investigators had asked for statements from two witnesses.

In addition, he said, investigators are still investigating the information on the alleged request of the head of the orphanage foundation so that the victim is immediately buried.

"Investigators are still waiting for the autopsy results from Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang to find out the cause of death," he said.
