JK To TKN Prabowo-Gibran Regarding The Film Dirty Vote: Show Where The Slander Is?

JAKARTA - The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) disagreed with the statement by the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) which stated that the film Dirty Vote contained slander related to alleged fraud in the 2024 General Election. If the Prabowo-Gibran camp accuses legal experts of spreading slander in the documentary, JK asks them to prove it. Because, after watching Dirty Vote, JK saw that the alleged election fraud in the film was conveyed based on existing data and facts. "Show where the slander is? All the data comes out first, then comment. Not only speeches, everything has data, numbers, dates. Everything is complete. So this provides, it's okay to say slander, but which one? Because all the data," said JK at his residence, Jalan Brawijaya Raya, South Jakarta, Monday, February 12. According to the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross, the film Dirty Vote does describe the reality on the ground regarding the stages of the 2024 General Election. In fact, he continued, not all election fraud was revealed in the film. "I think this is Dirty Vote, this film, it is still lighter than the reality that existed at that time. Not all of them. Maybe only 25 percent because it does not cover events in areas, events in villages, how social assistance is accepted by people how come officers influence people," explained JK. "So there are actually many more. Maybe the director is more polite. Still polite. But part of the other party is still angry, especially if everything is dismantled," he continued. Dirty Vote is an explanatory documentary that reveals alleged election fraud described by three constitutional law experts, namely Bivitri Susanti, Zainal Arifin Mochtar, and Feri Amsari. These three legal experts explain the practice of nepotism using power instruments with the aim of winning the 2024 election by the rulers. The cases of nepotism that Bivitri, Zainal Arifin, and Feri responded to were revealed through photo documents, videos, and news pieces. The forms of fraud are unraveled by constitutional law analysis. According to Bivitri, the film Dirty Vote is a historical recording of the destruction of the country's democracy at a time, where power is abused so openly by people who are chosen through democracy itself. “ Tells about two things. First, about democracy which cannot be interpreted as limited to the implementation of elections, but how the election takes place. Not only the vote count, but whether the entire election process is carried out fairly and according to constitutional values. Second, about power that is misused due to nepotism that is illegal in a democratic state of law, ” explained Bivitri in his statement, Sunday, February 11. Continuing, Feri emphasized that the film Dirty Vote gave a reminder to the regime that the state's power had its limits. According to him, allowing fraud to destroy elections is tantamount to destroying this nation. "There has never been an eternal power. The worst of power is the one who only thinks about himself and his family by extending his power, "explained Feri. The documentary Dirty Vote is directed by Dandhy Dwi Laksono. This is the fourth film he has directed to take the momentum of the election. Meanwhile, TKN Prabowo-Gibran suspects that the documentary Dirty Vote, which was launched on the YouTube platform, aims to reduce the 2024 General Election. Deputy Chairperson of TKN Prabowo-Gibran Habiburokhman asked the public not to be provoked by the narratives in the film, because he believes most of its contents are limited to assumptions.

"Most of what the film says is something slanderous, a very assumptive, and highly scientific hate narrative."
