JAKARTA - King Charles does not want to pressure Prince William with responsibility in the kingdom after he was diagnosed with cancer, especially as his son was focusing on his family due to his wife Kate Middleton's long recovery after undergoing stomach surgery.

Friday, February 9 London time, England, reported that a source close to the royal family said King Charles did not want to pressure King William. Even though he was diagnosed with cancer some time ago, King Charles wanted his son to focus on his small family first. "He doesn't want to put such pressure on William. He always wants to save his children from overpressure and it will remain. Especially because William has other priorities (with Kate)," the source said.

Prince William may be carrying out several tasks on behalf of his father after the palace announces the health of King Charles. However, there are currently no plans to appoint a State Counselor to replace him.

Prince William is one of the elected family members who can carry out King Charles' constitutional duties, if the King is abroad or unhealthy.

However, Buckingham Palace said King Charles would continue to work behind the scenes, receive a red box, send the king's daily official archive, and take on other behind-the-scenes tasks.
