Ahead Of The 2024 General Election, High School Students In Jabodetabek Hold A Meeting To Build Political Awareness

JAKARTA - A number of high school (SMA) students in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas who are members of the Indonesian Youth Center (PIC) held a meeting and were ready to build political awareness ahead of the 2024 General Election.

Rusli Simanjuntak, a student from SMK 50 Jakarta, said that the youth and students Kopdar provided education on how to do politics properly, especially in receiving information from social media.

"Currently, a lot of hoax news is popping up on social media, such as calls for hate speech that are increasingly often on social media, which is very risky for novice voters and students who are easily consumed by hoaxes," he told reporters, Saturday, February 10.

According to him, the meeting between students with the theme "Building Awareness in Politics Without Polarization towards the Young Generation and Students" is very interesting and useful for young people and students to better understand politics.

"So, we can choose which leaders are the best and can lead Indonesia even better," he said.

Rusli hopes that the meeting activities between youth and students can be carried out regularly. So that students can understand how important politics is and can sort out correct and untrue information.
