JAKARTA - Chairman of the Washington DC Election Committee (PPLN) Andang Purnama said Indonesian citizens who support different presidential and vice presidential candidates remain in harmony ahead of the 2024 General Election.
"The harmony is still there now, and the election does not divide between friends, as happened in (election) 2019," said Andang as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 9.
According to Andang, the competition for support for presidential and vice-presidential candidates is not too sharp so that PPLN does not issue a special announcement regarding this matter.
He further said Indonesian citizens in Washington DC could not arbitrarily conduct parades or put up campaign banners or attributes. They can only install campaign attributes at their respective secretariats or, for example, during the socialization of certain presidential candidates inside the building they rented, said Andang.
