South Kalimantan Police Reveals Smuggling Of 7 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine And Thousands Of Ecstasy From Malaysia

The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the South Kalimantan Police (Kalsel) revealed 7,395 grams or approximately seven kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 5,000 pills of international narcotics networks controlled by dealers from Malaysia.

"We arrested two suspects while carrying a large enough amount of drugs, namely the initials AI (19) and his female friend HE (19)," said the Director of Drug Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Kelana Jaya, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 7.

Kelana explained that this network was caught supplying drugs from West Kalimantan to Banjarmasin by land.

From information from the public and scientific data processing which was then continued with a sustainable investigation, the Opsnal Sub-Directorate II team led by AKBP Zaenal Arifien on Saturday (3/2) managed to arrest the two suspects while crossing Trans Kalimantan Street, Handil Bakti Village, Alalak District, Barito Kuala.

The two of them who rode a motorcycle were ambushed and after being examined the backpack they were carrying contained seven packages of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in green Chinese tea plastic and three large packs of purple ecstasy.

Kelana said her team was still developing in the field to be able to reveal the city.

Based on the smuggling pattern and types of drug evidence that have been mapped by the South Kalimantan Police, it is suspected that the two suspects were controlled by an international network from Malaysia, which has a circulation market in the regional area of the island of Kalimantan.
