JAKARTA - The COVID-19 pandemic is not only causing pressure to the health sector but also the economy. Chairman of CT Corp Chairul Tanjung considered the pandemic to be a dilemma for state leaders because they have to choose health or economy.

According to Chairul Tanjung, if the country leaders want to focus on health then steps such as lockdowns must be taken. However, according to the 9th richest person in Indonesia, because they cannot leave the economy, these two sectors are interrelated and cannot be separated.

"I have to remind you, there is no economic recovery without a solution to health problems", said Putri Tanjung's father during the CNBC Outlook 2021 event, Thursday, February 25.

As is known, the government is intensively implementing this vaccination program to prevent an increase in active cases of COVID-19 in the country, and so that the economy can continue to run.

According to the man who is familiarly called CT, this COVID-19 vaccine is the only hope. He assessed that rapid vaccination is needed so that economic recovery can run well.

"What is the hope? Vaccines. What is needed is a sufficient number of vaccines and vaccinations quickly. We hope with the existing vaccines in Indonesia so that Indonesia's recovery can run well", he said.

For your information, the total number of recipients of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia reached 1.269.905 people today. The total recipients of the second injection of the corona vaccine were 789.966.
