Jokowi's Ethical Insinuation Is Diligent For Social Assistance, Ganjar: It's Better To Stop It Except For Shame, It's Over

BALIKPAPAN - Presidential Candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo said there is no rule prohibiting the president from distributing social assistance (bansos) directly to the community. However, he questioned morals and ethics.

This was conveyed by Ganjar in response to the statement of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto who said there was nothing wrong with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) distributing social assistance (bansos) to the people.

"Yes, if it's always regulated, nothing is violated. But, again it's a matter of morals, ethics and taste," Ganjar told reporters in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, Tuesday, February 6.

Ganjar then told that he had been asked about ethics by one of the former leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). At that time, he easily made an analogy when people raised their feet to the table.

"Sorry before, yes, maybe I was not polite. But when my feet, I raised the table what happened? I didn't break the rules but was it polite? Definitely not," he said.

"Well, when we know that this sense of shame and decency has been violated, it should be stopped. Except, our shame has been broken," continued the former Governor of Central Java.

As previously reported, Airlangga Hartarto, who is also the General Chair of the Golkar Party, said that President Jokowi was not wrong in distributing social assistance directly. The reason is that he did not contest the 2024 presidential election.

"The president may distribute directly (social assistance, ed), right, the president is not a presidential candidate," said Airlangga in Tangerang on Monday, February 5.

Moreover, he said that the social assistance was handed over directly to the community, there would be no problems. "This is immediately given to the community," he concluded.
