Bamsoet Calls On Kiai Throughout Banjarnegara To Maintain The Political Climate Ahead Of The 2024 General Election

BANJARNEGARA - Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly as well as Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Bambang Soesatyo alias Bamsoet, encouraged the kiai to be a cooler in the midst of an increasingly expensive political climate ahead of the 2024 General Election. The presence of kiai and religious leaders in the community must be able to direct how to build good relations between humans.

"Don't because of the election, we politicize religion and in the name of God only to gain power. As the most perfect creature created by God Almighty, humans should show civilized behavior. Not destructive and immoral behavior," said Bamsoet during a visit on the 17th day at the 7th Dapil, Central Java when meeting the Kiai Tahlil Forum throughout Banjarnegara and Purbalingga in Banjarnegara, Saturday, February 3.

The chairman of the 20th DPR RI and the former Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI for Law, Human Rights and Security explained that Indonesia was built on the foundation of the diversity of ethnic groups and religions. Even because of the generosity of Muslims, the Jakarta Charter, which became the forerunner of the opening of the Constitution, was corrected by removing seven words from the phrase God with the obligation to carry out Islamic law for its adherents, became the One Godhead.

"Indonesia is a beacon generator of world Islamic civilization. Indonesian Muslims have shown an example to other religious communities in the world, that prioritizing the value of humanity is the main foundation for the realization of peace," said Bamsoet.

The Deputy Chairperson of the FKPPI and the Deputy Chairperson of the Pancasika Youth and the Head of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Security, explained that the world community can learn from the tolerance and harmony of religious communities in Indonesia. "It is very important for the kiai to speak out to spread peace. Do not let religion be used as an excuse for humans to fight each other. Moreover, to politicize religion for political purposes," concluded Bamsoet.
