Police Continue To Hunt For Drug Network Fredy Pratama

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Narcotics Crime, Bareksrim Polri, continues to hunt down international network drug dealers Fredy Pratama until he is caught and hunt down his assets.

"We will not stop arresting Fredy Pratama," said the Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Pol. Mukti Juharsa in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 2.

In hunting for Fredy Pratama's network, Bareskrim Polri held an operation codenamed Escobar. In 2023, this operation was able to win as many as 46 suspects in drug network Fredy Pratama.

"In early 2024, the Lampung Regional Police managed to secure eight perpetrators of the Fredy Pratama network, bringing a total of 54 suspects," he said.

Of the 46 suspects arrested in 2023, he said, one of the suspects was charged with Money Laundering (TPPU) in the name of Bayu Firmandi.

"This money laundering case is still in the process of being investigated by the public prosecutor at the Attorney General's Office," said Mukti.

From 2020 to 2023, the team has confiscated 10.3 tons of crystal methamphetamine from the Fredy Pratama network.

"We are still monitoring this network, yes, there are indeed many new modus operandi carried out by them," said Mukti.

The new modus operandi, he said, is like a financial mode by no longer going through a bank account, but cryptocurrency or digital currency. "We are investigating this too," he said.

Until now, continued Mukti, his party believes that Fredy Pratama's whereabouts after being designated as a fugitive from the National Police on the People's Wanted List (DPO), are in Thailand.

The National Police has issued a red notice against Fredy Pratama. And cooperated with the Thai Police and BNM Polri DEA America to hunt down Fredy Pratama.

"We are trying to work with DEA and Royal Thai Police to find out the whereabouts of Fredy Pratama who is in Thailand," he said. In addition, continued Mukti, his party also tracked Fredy Pratama's assets both in Indonesia and abroad for confiscation.

From the results of coordination with the Thai Police, it is known that there are still many assets of suspect Fredy Pratama disguised with the new mode in the White Elephant country.

"We can track the security of assets. Please pray for all colleagues, God willing, in 2024 we can reveal Fredy Pratama and his assets," said Mukti.
