Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) denied that he would be a replacement for Mahfud MD as the coordinating minister for politics, law and security (Menko Polhukam).AHY was indeed predicted to fill the chair of the coordinating minister for the police. However, the Chairman of the Democratic Party denied it. "There is no (article). From whom the offer came from," AHY told reporters at the Gajayana Stadium Malang, Thursday, February 1. AHY admitted that there was no communication regarding the offer. "I have no communication about it," he said. When asked about Mahfud MD's decision to resign as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, AHY refused to comment further. According to him, the position of minister in President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) cabinet is strategic.

"This is a question of the Batman trap. I don't want to make assumptions. I'm not in that position, but what is clear is that every task imposed on us by the state must be maintained as well as possible," he said., continued AHY.
