Businessman Buying And Selling Birds His Employees In Medan, His Body Was Thrown Into The River

A bird seller shop employee in Medan City, North Sumatra had the heart to kill his own boss and then his body was dumped into the Krueng Bayeun River, Hijrah Hamlet, Bayeun Village, Rantau Seulamat District, East Aceh.

The perpetrator had the heart to kill his boss's life because he was hurt and upset that the Rp 5 million borrowed by the victim had not been returned.

The perpetrator is known to have the initials EP (41) year, a resident of Medan Helvetia District, Medan City. EP was arrested by the Medan City Police Criminal Investigation Unit in Pekanbaru, Riau on Thursday after two weeks of fugitives.

During the arrest, officers were forced to paralyze the perpetrator with hot lead on both legs for trying to escape and fight the officers.

Apart from the EP perpetrators, the police also arrested another perpetrator, namely R, who was the collector of the victim's car. R was arrested in the Aceh Tamiang area.

Medan Police Chief Commissioner Teddy John Marbun said that the disclosure of this murder case began with the discovery of a floating body and caught in a fishing net in the Krueng Bayeun River, Hijrah Hamlet, Bayeun Village, Rantau Seulamat District, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

When found, the body of the man was wrapped in burlap sacks and in a tied body condition. Langsa Police officers who arrived at the scene immediately evacuated the victim's body to the Langsa Regional General Hospital for an autopsy.

From the identification results revealed, the man was named Baharudin Siregar, a 45-year-old man, a resident of Seikambing Village, Medan Helvetia District, Medan City. Knowing the victim was a resident of Medan City, the Langsa Police Satreskrim then coordinated with the Medan Polrestabes Satreskrim and conducted an investigation.

After 17 days of investigating, the Medan City Police Satreskrim finally succeeded in uncovering the murder case and arresting two perpetrators.

"The perpetrator, whose initials are EP, is an employee who has only worked for two months at the victim's house, a bird buying and selling entrepreneur," said Teddy, Friday, February 2.

Teddy also revealed that the motive for the murder was because he was upset and hurt by the victim, because the Rp 5 million that the victim had borrowed had not been returned.

"The murder took place because they were hurt on Sunday (14/1/2024) at around 23.40 they made a fuss because this perpetrator asked that the money borrowed by the victim was not returned," he said.

Triggered by heartache, the perpetrator killed the victim using a wooden block so that the victim fell and died. After that, the perpetrator himself wrapped the victim in a sheet.

In this case, the Medan City Resort Police officers have confiscated a number of evidences, namely a wooden block used by the perpetrator to kill the victim's life, victim's clothes, beds and a car belonging to the victim and a car belonging to the perpetrator R used by EP perpetrators to escape to Pekanbaru, Riau.

To account for their actions, now the two suspects are in the custody of the Medan Police Headquarters, North Sumatra. The police suspects have applied Article 338 in conjunction with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning murder and robbery, which carries a sentence of more than 15 years in prison.
