Fahri Hamzah Claims 15 Years Of Being Monitored By The KPK, Novel Baswedan Alludes To The Benur Case

JAKARTA - Former senior KPK investigator Novel Baswedan denied the statement by the politician from the Indonesian Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, who claimed that when he was a state official, the KPK supervised because he was too harsh in criticizing anti-corruption agencies.

Novel emphasized that Fahri, who is also a spokesman for the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), had addressed him. For example, while serving at the KPK, Novel said that the KPK has never been selective in handling corruption cases.

"Still lying. While I was at the KPK, the KPK had never targeted people to be arrested or look for cases. Even though the person tried to oppose the KPK's efforts to eradicate corruption," Novel said in his X social media account, Thursday, February 1.

Novel also gave an example of a name that the KPK has never targeted even though it has often criticized efforts to eradicate corruption. The name that Novel called is Fahri himself.

Novel was surprised that Fahri's attitude was against the KPK only when the anti-corruption agency was not led by Firli Bahuri. Firli is known to have violated serious ethics and was dismissed from the position of Chairman of the KPK.

"For example: Fahri was not pursued in the case of fry, etc. It was different during the Firli era, Fahri's pride," said Novel.

Previously, Fahri Hamzah admitted that he had been stalked by the KPK for 15 years. The reason, Fahri claimed that he was too harsh in criticizing the KPK.

The claim is part of Fahri's campaign on social media X as a legislative candidate for the DPR from the Gelora Party in the 2024 election.

"If you attack me personally, almost 15 years @KPK_RI stalks me as a state official who is too harsh on the KPK. Alhamdulillah, I have never been lax. Until now. But there are presidential candidates who are almost suspects. Pray for me, I'm not playing with my position," Fahri wrote in his X account.

In his post, Fahri also uploaded a photo containing his campaign T-shirt.
