Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the levy of Rp600 thousand per month to residents who provide parking space on their own land in the area around Cakung Station has complied with the rules. Syafrin said that the location of this parking service has become the official construction of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Parking Implementation Unit based on the Parking UP Chief of Staff Letter Number 1518/PH11.00 concerning Parking Managers and Parking Attendants Placement. "The location has become the official construction of the East Jakarta Transportation Agency Parking Unit on behalf of Abdul Kodir. The parking retribution income is deposited monthly through the Dishub Parking UP income account," said Syafrin in his statement, Thursday, January 1. Based on the search by the DKI Transportation Agency, Syafrin said that his officers who asked for a fee of Rp600 thousand per month to the parking provider around Cakung Station did not make a mistake. This is because the retribution costs have been deposited into the regional treasury through the DKI Transportation Agency Parking UP. The regulation is contained in Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2012 concerning Parking. If there is a minimum parking location for 5 parking units or 125 m2, the location for the parking is required for the licensing process.

"In addition to the obligation to park permits, the location also includes the object of a parking taxpayer in accordance with the provisions of Perda Nommor 1 of 2024 concerning Regional Taxes and Levy collected by the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency," explained Syafrin. Previously, it was reported that a resident who provided parking on his land was asked to pay Rp600 thousand per month to DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency officers for reasons of levy. The DKI Transportation Agency also traced this matter and the results did not violate the provisions.
