Prabowo: Indonesian Politics Is Politics That You Don't Want To Have A Enemy

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, talked about Indonesia's commitment to international politics. Prabowo said that Indonesian politics is politics that does not want to have enemies.

This was conveyed by Prabowo during a speech at the Trimegah Political and Economic Outlook 2024 entitled "The Urgency To Ignite Growth" at The Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 31. Initially, Prabowo admitted that he was grateful because Indonesia had not been involved in conflicts with any country for decades. Although, he said, Indonesia has so far had border problems with a number of neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore, and even China. However, according to the Minister of Defense, this problem can be resolved well through negotiations. Prabowo said, Indonesia wants to have good relations with neighboring countries.

"We have problems with Malaysia regarding the border, we have problems with Singapore, we have problems with Vietnam, we have problems with China, not a few, big enough in our waters. But in our way, we overcome it by negotiating, we overcome it by approach we want to be good citizens," Prabowo explained in his speech.

Prabowo menyatakan, Indonesia berkomitmen untuk meneruskan prinsip non blok, yang dianggapnya sebagai bentuk sikap politik yang enggan mencari musuh.

"Our politics is politics, we don't want to have enemies. Our politics is non-block politics, active free and that is what we must maintain, that's what we must continue," said the General Chairperson of Gerindra. Prabowo emphasized that he wanted Indonesia to be friendly with all countries. He is optimistic that Indonesia can mediate between countries that are in conflict.

"Indonesia navigates between rocks, between conflicts of conflict, Indonesia is friendly with China, friendly with America, friendly with Russia, friendly with all countries," he said.

"So I am optimistic that various Indonesian cases can emerge as parties accepted by parties who may be tense," Prabowo continued.
