Examined By West Java Bawaslu, Ridwan Kamil Affirms No Violations When Attending The Tasikmalaya BPD Event

West Java Regional Campaign Team (TKD) candidate pair Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Ridwan Kamil (RK), appreciated the West Java Bawaslu move that examined him for alleged violations of the 2024 General Election.

According to Ridwan Kamil, with this, West Java Bawaslu has carried out its main duties and functions to ensure that the election runs well.

"So if there are reports, don't be one-sided, right, that's why I'm happy to come here because I can clarify (reports of alleged election violations)," said Ridwan Kamil at the West Java Bawaslu office, Bandung, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

In addition, Ridwan Kamil also admitted that he was happy to be summoned by the West Java Bawaslu for an examination, because he could set an example for the entire community to obey the laws and rules of the game.

On the other hand, Ridwan Kamil stated that he did not clarify too much related to the viral video of himself taking action to distribute money at the Regional Jambore event of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) of Tasikmalaya Regency some time ago.

"Earlier, I didn't really have much to clarify the things that need to be explained, don't imagine that the old print should be checked for minutes but the old print (file)," he said.

Ridwan Kamil also claimed that there was no substance of the violation, because according to him his reporting to West Java Bawaslu was sourced from the interpretation perception because what was used as evidence was a video that did not describe the whole incident.

"So from us it was explained that I was an invitation, and everything that was suspected and so on, if we organizers such as inviting elements that were prohibited, of course it would be a problem. We are guests, like I was invited to the recitation or seminar, I was told to explain, the same by this group was also told to explain. That's why I'm happy, hopefully, it's not necessary to perceive all kinds of things," he said.

The examination, which lasted about three hours, was related to the viral video of him using the attributes of a pair of presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the activities of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in Tasikmalaya Regency.

In the video footage, Ridwan Kamil sings and dances on stage and is watched by dozens of participants. He also gave some money to the people dancing on stage.
