Search For Missing Fishermen In The Waters Of Majene Sulbar, Basarnas Baru Finds Unmanned Ships And Hats

The Basarnas of Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) deployed a rescue team to search for a fisherman who was missing in the waters of Malunda, Majene Regency.

"We have sent a rescue team from the Majene SAR Alert Unit to the location to immediately search for fishermen who have been reported missing since Saturday (27 January) yesterday," said Head of the Mamuju Basarnas Office Muhammad Rizal, in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, Sunday, January 28, confiscated by Antara.

Based on a report received by Basarnas Mamuju, the fisherman named Adam (55) left to sea in the waters of Malunda, Malunda District, Majene Regency, since Saturday, January 27 morning.

Then, on Saturday, January 27 at around 16.00 WITA, a fisherman found a nine-Nautical Mile (NM) unmanned boat from the coast.

Not far from the ship's position, a hat allegedly belonging to the victim was found 70 meters from the ship.

The victim's family and local fishermen have tried to find it but until Saturday evening January 27, the victim has not been found.

"We received a report of the missing fisherman this morning and immediately dispatched a rescue team around the location where Adam's suspected ship was found, to conduct a sweep," he said.

He explained, until Sunday, January 28 afternoon, the Basarnas rescue team along with other SAR elements and the community were still conducting sweeps around the location where the fisherman was suspected of missing.

"The rescue team together with other SAR elements assisted by the community are still making efforts to search the location where the fisherman was suspected of missing. Hopefully today's search will produce results and the victim will be found safe," he said.
