JAKARTA - The Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, directly inspected the location of the Cikampek-Palimanan toll road at KM 122 + 400, which had collapsed since Monday. He asked the location of the road to apply contraflow to avoid long congestion.

"We will coordinate with the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and Korlantas Polri. There are several things that will be done to handle it.

Director General Budi also emphasized that tomorrow a follow-up meeting will be held to discuss whether it is necessary to impose restrictions on the transportation of goods for trucks with 3 axles and above, such as during the Nataru and Lebaran periods.

"The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) will carry out the construction (improvement), while for traffic management several handling options have been discussed, such as a 400m shortened contraflow, so that it will fill the middle road to be traversed so that there will still be 4 lanes as usual, but this does take time. 10 days, "he explained.

Director General Budi explained that to minimize the crowds from local residents who would witness the repair of the subsidence road, he asked that the road repair work be closed.

He also appealed to people who cross the location to remain careful and maintain a safe distance between vehicles, especially in extreme weather conditions, such as in recent times to be aware of the high rainfall that has occurred in several areas.

Meanwhile, Director General Budi conveyed a statement from Lintas Marga Sedaya that repairing the collapsed Cipali toll road would take 1.5 months.

"We plan to further discuss the operational limitation of goods transport for 3-axis trucks with related parties and associations such as Organda and Aptrindo. Because this requires our joint commitment," he explained.
