House Of Representatives Asks Companies Not To Give Joint Leave To Their Employees

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Azis Syamsuddin, has asked the central and regional governments (Pemda) to follow the policy of cutting joint leave in 2021.

The DPR encouraged the regional government to urge companies and industries not to provide joint leave for their employees. So it is hoped that it can effectively reduce the COVID-19 case in the country for the creation of a Healthy Indonesia and economic recovery.

"Entrepreneurs must be able to carry out the recommendations and policies of the Government", Azis told reporters, Wednesday, February 24.

As is known, joint leave which was originally valid for 7 days has been cut to 2 days to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus which increases during long holidays.

The Chairperson of the DPR Political and Security Coordinator (Korpolkam) emphasized that the government's policy aims to reduce community mobility which has the potential to have an impact on the spike in COVID-19 cases. Especially during long holidays, it is feared that people will flock to tourist destination locations.

In addition, the former Chairman of Commission III of the DPR also asked the National Army (TNI) and the Police Force (Polri) to develop a strategy to monitor and regulate public discipline in implementing the COVID-19 health protocols.

"The authorities and the COVID-19 Task Force must strictly monitor the public who violate health protocols", said Azis.
