Bulog Rice Footo Circulating Attached By Prabowo-Gibran Sticker, Vice President Asks To Report To Bawaslu

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said Bawaslu was authorized to investigate the issue of alleged politicization of social assistance rice which was used as a means of campaign in the 2024 General Election.

"I think only problems related to elections or campaigns will be submitted to Bawaslu," said Vice President Ma'ruf as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 25.

The statement was made by Vice President Ma'ruf when responding to a photo of Bulog rice that was affixed by a sticker of the presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka circulating on social media X.

The rice in the 5 kilogram plastic bag packaging is a government rice reserve for the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program.

"Let Bawaslu give (a decision) later, whether there is a violation or not," said the Vice President.

Meanwhile, President Director of Perum Bulog Bayu Krisnamurti said Bulog had never attached any attributes to rice packaging, other than the labels of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and Bulog.

Bayu explained that SPHP rice is very easy for the public to get because Bulog cooperates with various distributor networks to modern retailers in marketing.see_also]

Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi also ensured that not a single logo was attached to the social assistance rice packaging, apart from the Bapanas and Bulog logos.

However, Arief admitted that it was difficult to arrange the rice that had been distributed and had reached the community.

"We don't know who was bought, so it's a bit difficult to control when it's in the community. But for sure, we don't have any other stickers," he said.
