Free His Family To Determine The Choice Of A Presidential Candidate, Sultan HB X: Nyoblos Or Not Please

DIY - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X admitted that he had never given directions to his family in choosing a candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election.

"I am with my wife, I have never directed my children because they have their own human rights to make choices. It's up to me, no, please, no, that's his business," said Sultan HB X in Kepatihan, Yogyakarta, Wednesday.

In addition to releasing his family, the Sultan who is also the King of the Yogyakarta Palace even said that his wife had never known who the presidential candidate he chose during the vote.

"My wife never knew what number I chose and who," said Sultan.

For the Sultan, even in front of his wife and children, he still holds the principle that the political choice at the five-year democratic party is the right of each individual.

"Because for me, those are individual rights, even if they are children, they are wives," said Ngarsa Dalem, Sultan HB X's nickname.

Previously, the Indonesian KPU had determined the participants of the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres), namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
