Sexual Abuse Case Delegated To The Bali Prosecutor's Office

DENPASAR - The Bali High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) received the delegation of case files for obscenity on behalf of the IWM suspect who also works as a Sulinggih or a person who is sanctified in Hinduism, under the guise of spirituality.

"Prosecutors who have followed the progress of the investigation on behalf of the IWM suspect have decided on Monday, February 22, 2021, with the result that the case files have met the elements of the articles suspected by the Bali Police Investigators", said Head of the Bali Prosecutor's Legal Information Section A Luga Harlianto quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 23.

The Bali Prosecutor's Office stated that the Bali Police investigation case files on behalf of the IWM suspect on the alleged criminal act of sexual immorality were complete. The suspect charged with Article 289, 290 paragraph (1), Article 281 of the Criminal Code

The case of sexual immorality under the guise of spiritual activity occurred on July 4, 2020, at Tukad Campuhan Pakerisan, Tampak Siring Village, Tampak Siring District, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

During the investigation, the suspect is not detained. Later, the prosecutor will decide whether to detain the suspect by referring to Article 21 of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

"Still in the investigator the status of the suspect and evidence, later when it has been submitted to the prosecutor it will be determined to be detained or not. Right now the information is not being detained in the investigator", said Luga.

The suspect, in this case, admitted to being a Sulinggih (purified person) suspected of committing obscene acts against the victim in the name of KYD. This obscene act is done under the guise of performing a ritual in the form of self-cleansing which is carried out at night.
