DKI Provincial Government Still Silences About Gibran's Violations In CFD, PKS: We Are Suspicious

JAKARTA - Secretary of the PKS Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD M. Taufik Zoelkifli admitted that he was surprised by the silence of the DKI Provincial Government regarding the violations committed by cawapres number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the case of distributing milk in the Sudirman-Thamrin car free day (CFD) area. According to Taufik, the DKI Provincial Government should follow up on the recommendation of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) which states that Gibran violated the governor's regulation (pergub) because he campaigned in the CFD area. "Why should the law be above the power, above pressure from anywhere. So, if this is the case, we will be suspicious," said Taufik when contacted, Wednesday, January 23.Taufik warned the Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono who also served as Head of the Presidential Secretariat so that no accusation from the DKI Provincial Government should appear. "Why is this not pressure from other parties? It is possible that there is pressure from which party? The most (assumption) should be done. It should be fast," said Taufik. On that basis, Taufik asked the DKI Provincial Government to immediately follow up on the recommendation of the Central Jakarta Bawaslu. "Or then the action must be fair to all candidates, all pairs of candidates and should not be subject to pressure from any party," he stressed.

The Central Jakarta Bawaslu has decided that the activities of the vice presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, which distributes milk in the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD area, do not fulfill the element of election violation. However, Gibran was declared to have violated other rules, namely the Governor Regulation (Pergub) of DKI Number 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Free Day (HBKB). Then, what sanctions can be imposed on Gibran who distributes one of his campaign products in the CFD? Referring to Article 7 paragraph (2) of Pergub 12 of 2016, it is stated that the HBKB or CFD should not be used for the benefit of political parties and SARA as well as an invitation oration that is inciting. Then, Article 9 paragraph (2) letter e states that HBKB participants who violate the provisions in filling the HBKB implementation event, HBKB organizers will provide a warning letter. Article 9 paragraph (2) letter f states, if the HBKB participants who have been sanctioned the reprimand repeat their actions, then those concerned are no longer allowed to fill activities in the implementation of the next HBKB. Thus, if the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government imposes sanctions on Gibran as a result of the incident at CFD Sudirman-Thamrin 3 last December, the eldest son of President Joko Widodo will only receive a written warning.

The Central Jakarta Bawaslu decision came out on January 3 evening, after summoning Gibran for clarification in the afternoon. "Recommended the findings with register number 001/Reg/TM/City/12.01/XII/2023 regarding the distribution of milk (Greenfields) by Gibran Rakabuming Raka to residents who are in the car free day area of Central Jakarta on December 3, 2023 which was registered on December 11, 2023 as another violation of the law," said Head of Central Jakarta Bawaslu Christian Nelson Pangkey or Sonny in his statement.
