Anies Baswedan Reminds DKI-Jakpro Provincial Government Not To Act Zalim To Residents Of Kampung Bayam

BOGOR - presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan asked the DKI Provincial Government and PT Jakarta Propertindo BUMD not to act arbitrarily in dealing with the Bayam Susun Village (KSB) polemic by reporting the former Bayam Village residents to the police. Some time ago, PT Jakpro reported four residents of Kampung Bayam to the police for forcing their way into KSB to settle in the residence next to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). "Don't let us be tyrannical. Zalim means acting unfairly. Don't let the big ones, the giants, we provide protection, but for the small ones, we forget protection. The country must be compassion for its people. It can't be wrong," said Anies in Bogor, West Java, Monday, January 22. KSB was founded and inaugurated by Anies while still serving as Governor of DKI Jakarta in October 2022. At that time, Aniaa built a KSB to be inhabited by residents of Kampung Bayam who were affected by evictions for the construction of JIS. Therefore, Anies emphasized that from the beginning the KSB was intended as a place to live for the residents of Kampung Bayam. "They are our own people and they are people who have been in that place for so long. Indeed, the construction was shifted because of COVID. So that the construction of the JIS is completed and can only build after the JIS is completed. So, we have to complete it, that's the state's obligation to the citizens," explained Anies. The polemic between the residents of Kampung Bayam and the DKI Provincial Government began when Anies no longer served as Governor of DKI Jakarta. Initially, residents of Kampung Bayam were not allowed to inhabit KSB because they did not agree with the amount of the rental rate set by PT Jakpro as the DKI BUMD that manages it. Jakpro offers to rent KSB at general rates, while residents want cheaper programming rates. Therefore, as a temporary solution, the government offers that they inhabit other flats in the North Jakarta area, namely the Nagrak Flat. The completion of the matter of tariffs has ended in a dead end. The DKI Provincial Government and Jakpro now argue that KSB will be designated as the residence of JIS operational workers.

A new chapter emerged in the KSB polemic when some residents of Kampung Bayam forced their way into KSB and occupied it at the end of November and early December 2023. Jakpro also responded to this and reported several residents of Kampung Bayam to the North Jakarta Metro Police on December 7, 2023 because they were considered to have illegally seized land. Now, the case is entering the investigation stage.
