Presidential Candidate number I Anies Baswedan said it would present a representative type A hospital in Southwest Papua Province as an effort to ensure public health in the region.

"Whether type A hospitals already exist in Southwest Papua, we will prepare the hospital," Anies explained while campaigning in front of a crowd of supporters in Sorong City, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 16.

According to Anies, when people suffer from illness and need complete medical assistance, type A hospitals will be a place to answer public health needs.

"So that when people get sick and need more complicated treatment, they don't need to be taken outside from Sorong," he said.

The deepest grief, he said, was when he witnessed that a sick person died and could actually be cured but could not be saved just because the facilities were not available at all.

"It's not because it can't be helped but the facilities don't exist and that's what causes a very deep sorrow," he explained.

When hospitals in Papua have turned into good and representative hospitals with all adequate facilities and personnel, then rest assured that the Papuan people will be able to get the best health services.

"If the puskesmas already exists, the less is a hospital with complete facilities," he said.

According to him, health is a priority program to ensure that access to public health services can be fulfilled properly and optimally, so that later the people of Southwest Papua will truly be healthy and prosperous.
