Floods Have Not Recededed And Expanded, The Kerinci Regency Government Retails The Status Of Disaster Emergency Response

KERINCI - Kerinci Jambi Regency Government (Pemkab) for the third time has again extended the disaster emergency response status due to large floods that have not subsided until now.

Floods that have entered their 17th day have affected 19,415 people.

The extension of the flood disaster emergency response period was carried out after there were still many houses in several sub-districts that were flooded. Moreover, the flood conditions are also increasingly widespread in several places.

Initially, the emergency response status was set on January 1-7, 2024. Then for a week the flood still occurred until the emergency response status was extended on January 7-14, 2024.

Time went by, the floods in Kerinci Regency were increasingly widespread, causing the Kerinci Regency Government to re-establish on January 15-28, 2024.

So far, flooding is still occurring in several districts and cities in Jambi Province. Data from the BNPB Pusdalops was recorded on January 10, 2024, as many as 10 sub-districts were submerged.

A total of 6,611 families or 19,415 people were also affected, while 2 people were reported to have died and 2 others were injured.

For Sungai Penuh City, there are 6 sub-districts that are still submerged with 6,848 families or 21,365 people affected, then 2 people died and 2 people were slightly injured.

The total number of people affected by the flood disaster in Kerinci and Sungai Penuh Jambi is 40,688 people.

Kerinci Regency Government has also distributed logistics and assistance, as well as public kitchens for flood and landslide victims.
