KLATEN - As many as two people died as a result of a collision between the New South Night Train (KA) and a car in Klaten Regency, Central Java, Sunday, January 14.

The accident occurred at a crossing that was not guarded by JPL 215 KM 150+3 between Srowot and Brambanan Stations. Currently, this accident case is handled by the Prambanan Klaten Police.

"The victim was evacuated and declared dead. The victim was taken to Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten Hospital," said Daop 6 Yogyakarta Public Relations Manager Krisbiyantoro, Sunday, January 14, as reported by Antara.

Based on the police report, initially the New Night South Gaya train was traveling from Solo to Jogja on the downstream rail line, namely the right side of the rail from the direction of Solo, while the Toyota Agya car was traveling from Pereng to Simpang Tiga Toserba WS.

Ahead of the incident, when crossing at the railroad crossing without the latch, the driver of the Agya car with the number L 1485 JF allegedly did not pay attention to the arrival of the train. The clash between the train and the car was finally inevitable at 16.30 WIB, Sunday, January 14.

Meanwhile, as a result of this incident, the South Malam New Style train trip experienced a few obstacles.

"For the safety of customers, the train trip had to stop for a while to check the locomotive facilities at Brambanan Station and found damage to the front of the locomotive," he said.
