The Palace Calls Jokowi's Impeachment Narrative For Electoral Political Interests

JAKARTA - The Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, emphasized that there are still parties who take advantage of President Jokowi's impeachment narrative for electoral political interests in this political year. "In the atmosphere of a political year like now, there must be parties who take advantage of the narrative of presidential impeachment for the benefit of electoral politics," said Ari Dwipayana, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, January 14. This statement must involve state institutions, such as the DPR, Constitutional Court (MK), and the MPR, with strict conditions. "Everything outside of the mechanism can be considered an unconstitutional action," he stressed. Ari Dwipayana also emphasized that allegations of fraud in elections must be tested and proven through a mechanism that has been regulated in the law (UU).

According to the Law, the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has a role to oversee the stages of organizing elections, accept complaints, as well as handle cases of administrative violations of elections and election criminal violations in accordance with statutory regulations. "Therefore, Ari said that if there are allegations of election violations, the public can report them to Bawaslu. He also emphasized that in the midst of political dynamics ahead of the 2024 election, President Joko Widodo continues to work to lead the government until the end of his term of office. "We should be grateful, especially in the last year the second period of his administration, that people's trust, support, and satisfaction with President Jokowi continues to strengthen. This is reflected in the results of a survey by credible survey institutions that show that the level of satisfaction with President Jokowi's performance remains high, reaching more than 75 percent," he said. In fact, Jimly was confused by the idea of impeaching President Jokowi who appeared ahead of the election. "Surprisingly, for 1 month to the election, how come there is an idea of impeaching the president. This is impossible, unless it is just a diversion or because of the supporters of the candidate pair, panic and fear of losing," wrote Jimly.
