Perpetrators Threaten To Shoot Anies Using Prabowo Photos On Social Media Accounts, TKN Confirms Not Part Of The Campaign Team

JAKARTA - The Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) confirmed that the perpetrators of the Anies Baswedan shooting had nothing to do with Prabowo-Gibran even though he used Prabowo's photo on his social media account.

Deputy Chairperson of TKN, Habiburokhman, said that he had traced the account of the perpetrator with the initials AWK (23) and it was confirmed that he was not part of the Prabowo-Gibran campaign team.

"It could be that whoever took Pak Prabowo's name or photo. We are not responsible for what (the perpetrator) did because it happened legally, it has nothing to do with it," said Habiburokhman on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

According to him, in the digital era, it makes access to information technology easier, including accessing someone's photos.

Habiburokhman suspects that the perpetrator did not like the presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto so he posted a photo of Prabowo on the perpetrator's TikTok account with the initials AWK to threaten the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan.

"This incident should not be used to slander certain parties because it is easy to verify a criminal event is easy. Arrest the perpetrator, ask what the motive is, and when it is carried out, it will be clearly revealed," said Habiburokhman.

Habiburokhman also warned and appealed to the public to be wiser in using social media not to easily vent emotions, let alone write threatening sentences.

The quick steps by the police to arrest the perpetrators were also appreciated by TKN Prabowo-Gibran so as not to interfere with the course of democracy in the 2024 General Election.
