Anies: No Need To Vilify Your Opponents After Debate

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan reminded all participants of the 2024 presidential election not to vilify opponents when the presidential and vice-presidential debate event was over, let alone bring issues into the debate out of the forum.

"In my opinion, this is important for the public to judge, how in the discussion, everything is conveyed and if there is an objection, convey it at that time. That is maturity in democracy," Anies said in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 12.

Anies said this in response to comments from presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto regarding Anies' statement in the presidential candidate debate.

According to Anies, he never continued the discussions discussed in the presidential and vice presidential candidates debate after the end of the debate. The former governor of DKI Jakarta also asked the public to question Prabowo directly.

"If the debate is successful, surely after the debate it will be calm. Don't be bad at fighting," said Anies.

He confirmed the problems that occurred during the presidential and vice-presidential debates, should have been resolved after the debate ended.

"All of that should have been conveyed during the debate. The forum is there," he said.

Previously, Prabowo Subianto, while campaigning in Pekanbaru, Riau, Tuesday (9/1), said that there were parties who mentioned the ownership of his land.

The defense minister also questioned the intelligence capacity of the presidential candidate who touched on the issue.

"There are also those who accuse them of owning how much land, owning this land. Is he smart or stupid? Does he understand that there is no HGU, right to use business, right to use building, right to use; that is state land, brother," said Prabowo.
