Angry Foreign Ships Steal Fish In The Indonesian Sea, Prabowo Confirms Will Strengthen The Indonesian Navy

JAKARTA - Presidential candidate (candidate) number 2, Prabowo Subianto is determined to strengthen the Indonesian Navy (AL) to maintain Indonesia's maritime wealth.

In front of approximately 1,000 fishermen from the Indonesian Fisherman Solidarity (SNI), Prabowo said that Indonesia has a large ocean and the largest fish reserves in the world.

"Many fish are born in the Indonesian oceans, but there are still too many foreign ships that are unclear without permission to enter our sea, therefore I am determined to build a strong Navy to protect our wealth at sea," Prabowo said in his private residence page, Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, Friday, January 12, quoted by Antara.

Indonesia is an archipelagic country whose 2/3 area is an ocean. Indonesia's sea area reaches 6.4 million square kilometers. However, the Indonesian fleet of ships has not met the minimum main force (MEF) as planned since the reign of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Under Prabowo's leadership, the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) purchased a number of new ships, some of which were made at domestic shipyards. Several new vessels purchased by Indonesia under the leadership of Prabowo as defense minister, among others, the two warships that mined the KRI Fani Island-731 and KRI Fanildo Island-732.

Not only that, the Indonesian government is also in the process of buying a submarine evacuation system from the UK, and a likely submarine from the French Naval Group.

At his residence on Jalan Kertanegara Jakarta today, Prabowo received direct support from SNI for the 2024 presidential election. Prabowo and SNI also signed a political contract, which one of which contained SNI was committed to supporting the victory of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in one round.

In front of the fishermen, who come from various coastal areas on the island of Java, Prabowo is also committed to building many ships for Indonesian fishermen.

"We, we have to build a lot of ships, the ships must be owned by Indonesian fishermen themselves. We will look for schemes, form groups of fishermen, form cooperatives. We will look for money. The money is there, it's for the people of Indonesia. Our country is actually rich, "said Prabowo.
