SEMARANG - Police are investigating a traffic accident that killed SR (18) a resident of Kedung Waringin, Semor, Kebumen Regency, Central Java, which was allegedly caused by a collapsed campaign prop (APK).

Head of Public Relations of the Kebumen Police, AKP HeruSanyoto, in Semarang, Friday said that the incident that occurred on January 10, 2024 was handled by the Traffic Unit of the Kebumen Police.

From the report, he said, the incident began when the victim SR (18) rode a motorbike with his friend on Jalan Raya Kebumen-Banyumas, in the Karanganyar District, Kebumen Regency.

"The victim died from a head injury," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 12.

Meanwhile, the victim's friend who was carrying was injured and had received treatment at the hospital.

According to him, investigators are still collecting evidence and witness statements in the incident.

As for the campaign props, which are suspected to be the trigger for the accident, he continued, the police have coordinated with the local Bawaslu.
