The Detention Period Of The Founder Of The Muamalah Market In Depok Is Extended

JAKARTA - Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) decided to extend the detention period of the suspected founder of Muamalah Market, Depok, Zaim Saidi. The extension of detention is carried out for the next 40 days.

"We convey to the extension of detention from the Attorney General's Office, in this case, the public prosecutor and the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes have issued a letter of extension of the detention of suspect ZS for 40 days from 23 February to 3 April 2021", said the Head of the Police Public Relations Division, Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Monday, February 22.

However, the reason for the extension of the detention period was not clearly explained. Strong suspicion, this is related to the incomplete process of completing case files.

"The suspect was placed in the Salemba detention center at the Bareskrim Polri branch and the detention extension letter was signed by the prosecutor", said Ramadhan.

The letter of extension of the detention period, said Ramadan, had been submitted to the family.

As previously reported, Zaim Saidi was previously arrested by the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes on February 2. In this case, Zaim used the dinar and dirham as a substitute for the rupiah. In using the currency, he took a 2.5 percent profit.

Zaim was presumed by Article 9 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning criminal law and Article 33 Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency.
