Arriving At The Palace Of The President Of Vietnam, Jokowi Was Given Flowers By A Boy

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was greeted by a state ceremony when he arrived at the Vietnam Presidential Palace in Hanoi, Friday, January 12.

Jokowi's arrival was greeted by the President of Vietnam, Vo Van Thuong. There were also a number of children who carried the small Vietnamese-Indonesian flag.

Based on a written statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, Friday, January 12, Jokowi, who arrived at the Vietnam Palace, was also given a baby's hand flower.

After that, Jokowi attended the procession of the state welcoming ceremony which began with the national anthem of the two countries, and was accompanied by a cannon boom 21 times. Furthermore, the two leaders of the country conducted inspections of honorary troops.

Jokowi and Vo Van Thuong then introduced delegations from their respective countries.

The Indonesian delegates who attended were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) Gandi Sulistiyanto, and Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi.

Meanwhile, from the Vietnamese side, followed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Head of the Vietnam Presidential Palace Le Khanh Hai, Minister of Agriculture and Development of Le Minh Hoan Village, Minister of Communication and Information Nguyen Manh Hung, Head of the People's Committee Hanoi Tran Sy Thanh, and Vietnam Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong.

Then, Jokowi and Vo Van Thuong took pictures together and held bilateral meetings.

The two agreed to increase cooperation in a number of fields, including information and communication technology and the fisheries sector, which was marked by the exchange of memorandums of understanding between the two parties.

The series of activities ended with the submission of a joint press statement by the two presidents of the country. After that, Jokowi left the Palace of President Vietnam.
