Don't Worry About Ethical Violations At The KPK Council, Alexander Marwata: Why Think About Unclear Reports

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata did not worry about reports submitted to the KPK Supervisory Board regarding alleged ethical violations of abuse of power.

It is known, the KPK Council said that Alexander and Nurul Ghufron, who are the Deputy Chair of the KPK, were reported for alleged ethical violations. They are said to have abused their authority when investigating allegations of corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

"Why are you dizzy thinking about an unclear report," Alexander said when confirmed by reporters, Friday, January 12.

Alexander even stated that he did not care about the report. He also made sure he never contacted the litigants in the case.

"I don't have a Mentan mobile number and people who are currently suspects at the KPK. If someone calls or WA with them, they are deceived," he said.

As previously reported, Nurul Ghufron, who was reported on a similar suspicion, did not want to comment much. He respects the report and will participate in the ongoing process.

"We respect the report and we will obey the provisions in the process at the KPK Council," said Nurul Ghufron to reporters in a written statement, Friday, January 12.

Meanwhile, KPK Council Member Albertina Ho said that his party was still clarifying the alleged abuse of authority. The public is asked not to rush into conclusions.

"This is just a complaint, just clarifying is not necessarily true," said the former judge to reporters at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Friday, January 12.

He confirmed that the allegations occurred related to corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture. However, Albertina denied having anything to do with the former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo case.

"The complaints are different," he said.
