Residents Affected By Pekanbaru Floods Experience Skin Diseases, Health Office Opens Free Service For A Week

PekanBARU - Pekanbaru City Health Office (Dinkes), Riau Province found that some of its residents who were affected by the flood had contracted skin disease.

"Most of the residents experience skin diseases, this disease often occurs after being flooded," said Pekanbaru Head of the Diskes, Arnaldo Eka Putra, in Pekanbaru, Riau, Wednesday, January 10, as reported by Antara.

He said his party had provided free services to residents affected by the flood for more than a week. Diskes open services in a number of locations and even move from one place to another every day.

"They have held free treatment for residents affected by the flood. Residents also have the opportunity to get access to health at this post for treatment," he said.

He said, there were also those who experienced fever and post-flood flu that hit a number of city areas. However, many of the affected residents experience itching to mealy, because their settlements have been flooded for a long time," he said.

Currently, there are 1,500 families (KK) affected by flooding in Pekanbaru City. Most of the affected residents are in the Rumbai area because they are around the Siak River.

Pemko has declared a flood emergency status since the end of last year until January 31. Meanwhile, the weather prediction and the Pekanbaru Meteorology and Geophysics Agency for the rainy season is expected to occur until the end of January 2024.
