President Jokowi Arrives In The Philippines

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and a limited group arrived at Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Manila, Philippines, after traveling four hours from Jakarta.

"The Indonesian Presidential Aircraft-1 which brought President Jokowi to land at around 20.05 local time or 19.05 western Indonesia time, Tuesday, January 9," said a written statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia.

Under the flight stairs, it seemed to welcome the President's arrival, including Philippine Cabinet Secretary Minister Carlito Galvez, Pasay Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Gina Jamoralin, Indonesian Ambassador to the Philippines Agus Widjojo and his wife, the Indonesian Defense Attache in Manila Colonel Bambang Wijonarko and his wife, and the Philippine Air Force Brigadier General Llyod C. Cabacungan.

From Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, President Jokowi then immediately continued his journey to the hotel where he spent the night in Manila.

It seemed to welcome the President's arrival at the hotel, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Philippines Dodo Sudradjat, and the Indonesian Army Attach in Manila Colonel Wahyu Akadi.

In the Philippines, President Jokowi is scheduled to hold a number of meetings, one of which is a bilateral meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Romuladez Marcos Jr which will be held at Malacanang Palace on Wednesday (10/1) tomorrow.
