Palace Discusses Preparation For Independence Ceremony August 17, 2024 At IKN

The Presidential Palace began to discuss preparations for holding the independence ceremony in the capital city of Nusantara on August 17, 2024.

The discussion was held in a large meeting involving all ministries and institutions as well as representatives of the TNI/Polri at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex.

"We were led by Kasetpres earlier with all ministries/agencies then from the TNI/Polri held the first meeting, the first major meeting to prepare for the 79th Independence Anniversary which will be held in the capital city of the archipelago," said Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat Setya Utama in a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 9.

Setya said that in government meetings, details of the implementation of the independence ceremony at IKN had begun to enter. The government is committed to carrying out all series of months of independence at IKN.

"So there are indeed provisions that must be implemented that the implementation is in IKN, because we will do it there, of course the preparations must start from now on," he said.

According to Setya, the government has about 8 months to prepare for its implementation.

"And as usual, even in Jakarta, even at the State Palace in Jakarta we (the government) made preparations in advance. Now for IKN we have to start from January," he explained.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono as Chair of the organizing committee for the month of independence, said that the holding of the independence month which will take place from August 1-18, 2024, including the independence ceremony on August 17, 2024 at IKN has been discussed in detail.

"I ask that per field, there is a field of communication, the field of ceremonies, the field of infrastructure infrastructure, to close it immediately, discuss it according to the field and of course discuss the latest according to IKN conditions in August," said Heru.

Furthermore, Heru also asked the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) to form an early Heritage Flag-raising Troops (Paskibraka) for the August 17, 2024 ceremony.

"I ask BPIP regarding the Paskibraka which is usually only formed around May, I ask that it be faster, including the core troops that have begun to be formed from the TNI, if possible from March it has started to exist, so the training is as early as possible," he asked.

He asked for the Paskibraka exercise to be carried out in Jakarta, with simulations that were made as similar as possible to the situation at IKN later.

At the meeting, it was also discussed the readiness of hotel accommodation, transportation to routes to IKN for officers or participants staying in Balikpapan and Samarinda.

"How about the Pick up, then where will the electric vehicle be used, we will discuss it later, and today and so on, I will tell you each we discuss, we will meet in two weeks later," said Heru.

Heru as the committee together with related parties will also conduct a direct visit to IKN in the near future to ensure the details of the route at IKN.

According to the Palace, preparations for holding the independence ceremony on August 17, 2024 at IKN will be similar to the preparations for holding the High Level Conference that had previously been carried out.

The palace said that although the ceremony would be carried out in a hybrid manner offline and online, there were still many accommodations that had to be prepared because the ceremony would be attended by people from all over Indonesia and ambassadors from friendly countries.
